Do you need a new perspective on Brasov! You can have it! From a not at all dizzying height you see the whole city with all of it, with all his soul moving, with all its colours combining together, with all the lights frenetically jubilantly at evenings.
Livada Postei is the place where many of the city buses branch in all directions in Brasov. From this point, climbing towards the north -west side of the fortress is reached the Graft Bastion, who is close to the White Tower and the Black Tower acting as guarding and surveillance towers. After leaving the Graft Bastion, you will have to climb many steps to get to the place that watches over the sight of Brasov, the White Tower. The terrible steps have a little slope inclination, but do not be afraid that you will bother to climb or descent, because you have the stay railing who will print even your handprint after a well-deserved effort! If you thought that the towers of Brasov have only one non-colour, there is also another non-colour of the 11 meters high Black Tower. It cannot be lost from sight even at night, because the light sources at the base of the tower turn it into a favourable night attraction.
Across the Black Tower, located at approximately the same height as the tower is the Weaver Bastion, construction which represents the craftsmen work and toil belonging to the linen weavers guild who built the bastion in 1421-1436. A bit further down this bastion will come along the Ropemaker Bastion or Spinner Bastion with its hexagonal shape and with a height of 10-12 meters and 2 meters thick walls.
Continuing the journey through the defence areas of Brasov, the strongest point of defence of the fortress is the Drapers Bastion located on the north-east corner of the fortress. The Drapers Bastion hosts the first virtual museum in Romania, which shows tourists through its multi-touch galleries the Bastion and Brasov history. This Bastion allows communication with the Tanners Bastion through a gallery wall built along Tanners Bastion. Any tourist or walker on the foothill of Tampa area can admire today, after the last renovation in 2005, this building that stands as historical proof of Brasov defence period.
Because heights require to be conquered, and the mountain upon which foothill all these bastions stand, needs to be climbed, let’s start to ascent Mount Tampa the natural limestone formation which became the symbol of Brasov. From there, the „on top of the world”, you can enjoy the buildings that have kept their German flavour, many red roofs on the streets near the Council Square, the Schei neighbourhood with narrow streets and crowded cemeteries filling the hills. Mount Tampa is not selfish and for this reason it makes you with the view offered up, to walk also towards the marked road leading to the Brasov fortress.
The Brasov fortress served as a shelter for the inhabitants forced to flee away from the Habsburgs army. In 1773 the Habsburg Emperor Joseph II ordered the restoration of the fortress, the rebuilt form being preserved till present.
Full relaxation and lowering of heights it should be done in the Nicolae Titulescu Central Park. You could not possible miss the chromatography pastel green stretching in the area. You could be jealous on the park because he has collected so many stories of people, many of the ladies stilettos walking at arm with a gentleman, so many kisses given while sitting on the colourful banks, so many pictures of those clenching to be two in one (simply to marry), many, many ...
And now, the likelihood of you will not want to walk the alleys of the park is significantly very small, we wish as quiet walk as possible where the bench you are going to sit will conceal a new story.
