Maybe we should tell you also what this adventure to top brings before your eyes. From there, the "top of the world", you can enjoy the buildings that have kept their German flavour, many red roofs on the streets near the Council Square, the Schei neighbourhood with narrow streets and crowded cemeteries filling the hills. Mount Tampa is not selfish and for this reason it makes you with the view offered up, to walk on marked roads also towards the nearby mountains (Poiana Brasov, Postavaru or bits of Bucegi). Initially, the fortress that protecting Brasov was built on Tampa, but it was destroyed when the ruler Vlad Tepes ruler attacked the city between 1459 and 1460 and impaled 40 merchants on the mountain. In 1950 Brasov became the city of Stalin and Tampa had to endure cutting forest on the city side to write the name of the dictator from tree trunks. But time wiped out the steps of that period. Now we should return to the first mentioned access road, the walking. It must be said that the most fascinating climb is starting from the broad saddle that separates the northern part of Tampa Hill Snails and follow the Gabony's stairs or the Knights road. After climbing all the way through you reach a clearing and the path lying before you leads to the top. If after passing the Gabony stones and make a slight deviation to the left you will see Bethlen's Grotto which once was a restaurant-brewery suspended on the pretty steep cliffs. Here is the place where in 2004 were installed the giant letters that form the name of Brasov. For exploration is also available the road starting in Racadau, Castle Valley, and was named by the locals "at rabbit" (la iepure). The overview seen from the top will fill you with exaltation also because of the outer advanced balcony. Of course that also the coming down is just as spectacular with various alternatives that you can return to town. If you choose to descend on the southern wing, you can choose the broad road to Castle Valley and if you prefer the west wing you would get in Schei, and from there in the old quarter of the city. The biodiversity of the place occupied space in many people curios minds, both tourists and strongly excited interest of the biologists because of the resting areas, access routes or view. Even the most passionate nature lover is still far enough from knowing all the various species found in this region. And this should sound the alarm for Local Public Director of Forests which by all means should take tougher measures to protect the area. It is also worth mention the history of the mountain, and that is because Tampa was given the name by the nations owning it. It is said that this was the place for Dacians sacrifices altars. Archaeological excavations have brought to light traces of the Roman invasions, the Romans thus creating the "tempus", "temporal" terms in close connection with the sacrifices the Dacians made in commemoration of god Uranus. Teutonic Knights translated the names given by the Romans into German and the time or Kronos citadel took the form of the nowadays name, Kronstadt. It is expected to ask what is to be done after the soles make again contact with the pavement from the city. Well here is the most beloved walking place for people of Brasov. It is easy to understand why! Well for many walkers the old trees keep the benches in shade, those walking on wheels ( roller blades or bike) can train their muscles here, those who want to shake the earth can do it on the basketball or tennis court and those who plan to make their kids happy can also bring them here to the playgrounds. Attraction for locals and also for visitors was the shooting house built in 1865 and destroyed in a fire and on its place is today the Forest High school. As far as the restaurants are concerned the Casa Vanatarolui restaurant is still present dating back since the 20th century and located near the cable car. Legends never left the mountain; therefore it is mentioned about the existence of tunnels that supposedly pierce the limestone massive or the underground lake which found its place under the mountain. The veracity of the latter legend not yet been demonstrated, but nevertheless there were found 3-4 tunnels dug into the mountain. Currently only one tunnel is functional, keeping the connection between Town Hall and the old fortress towers. If you have not yet seen on the sidewalk at the foothills of Tampa, parts of the aqueducts built in 1891-1892 that supplied the city with water collected from the mountain springs, we invite you to look closely after the aqueducts at your next promenade.
