And maybe the first thing that dazzles your brain when you are in a city is the surrounding buildings image. Those architectural styles defined by lot of years that actually leave you with your mouth open and head thrown back.
A building that stands as a testament to the powerful trading role that Brasov had is the Hirscher house. Built in 1545, the building with unconventional dimensions for that period was the goods sales point of the merchants in Brasov. And because Brasov is a city of legend, one of the legends is even immortalized on the front of the house where it is visible the portrait of a widow and her daughter.
Also in the famous Square is the memorial house of the great Romanian composer George Dima. Under the roof of the Gheorghe Dima Memorial House are well preserved the scores, furniture, piano, concert posters and other personal belongings of the Romanian composer, conductor and teacher.
One of the houses with a historical past is also the Johannes Honterus house, the house that was named after the Saxon humanist Johannes Honterus, an important figure in the medieval period of Brasov. In the memory of the humanist who gave Brasov more value was built, 400 years after his birth, a statue located in the courtyard of the Black Church.
By moving a little of the Central square, we identify down the road a small park where people can relax on the few benches and walkways, admiring the oldest fountains of this kind in Brasov. The fountain placed in the centre of the Rudolf Park has a height of 2.5 meters and 4.8 meters in circumference and firmly stands the flash lights of those who sit on its edges and posing.
