Rope Street

The Rope Street is something you should not miss! Well, if you are claustrophobic then and only then you may see it from one of its end. So by all means you should walk on the street with square stone in between the 3 meters high walls and gaze at the lamps which preserve the atmosphere from last century.

Its purpose was to build a corridor to aid the firefighters. First mentioned in 17th century documents you can find it next to Schei Gate (Poarta Schei) and perpendicular to Cerbului Street (Strada Cerbului). If you are flexible enough to hang on 1.11 and 1.35 meters rope or you can just walk on its 80 meters length. It is not just like any other streets because its narrowest makes it unique in Romania and Europe.
