Stretched over an area of ??258 hectares, of which 6 hectares are occupied by swamps, and the remaining 252 hectares occupied by forest, the reserve houses quite a lot of rare flora. The biotope from Prejmer reserve is unique in Romania and preserves glacial relics from the Quaternary of the Earth and also the oaks that grow to their limit altitude. I suggest you go to Prejmer to see the splendour of plants growing in the reserve area, because it is superfluous to upload your memory with the Latin names of the plants instead of fully enjoying the multicolour spell in front of your very eyes. Among the rarities previously mentioned, it is worth mention that some of the forest reserve and the eutrophic swamps from Prejmer has under the "supervision" are: Liguria, small mountain Iris, dew of heaven, loaf, black currant or motley tulip. Unfortunately there is also a less pleasant way in terms of ecosystem development in the reserve. Because the agricultural and pasturing areas extend, the wildlife reserve shrinks considerably. And this is not singular in reducing the rich forest and swamp ecosystem; furthermore man through burning the reed area will reduce the hydrophilic vegetation. Hoping that such wonders of nature to be protected and that all Romanians want nature to be harnessed with all that it offers, just the same we hope for the the eutrophic forests and swamps Reserve from Prejmer.
