As a consequence to the Turkish invasion in 1658 many villagers die right inside the church. In the following years the belfry tower collapse after the village was once more under fire. The weaken structure of the church in 1794 leads to the partial collapse of it and by 1795 is rebuilt. The Evangelic church from Sanpetru preserves the specific Saxon churches style and the decorated funeral chapel gives a specific charm to the church. The chapel walls have gothic style pictures combined with Trecento Italian art influences and other painting schools from Prague. On the western side of the chapel is painted the Sf Mihail leading an army of angels. This posture of Sf Mihail is unique in Transylvania. In 1820 Johann Thois builds and sets up the organ in memory of Sf Petru. As touristic points are the natural tulip reservation from Lempes hill and of course the above mentioned Evangelic church which overcame time, fires and so many negative influences.
