The west limit of the mountains is the Brasov Depression, Barsa Depression and Zarnesti Gulf. The northern part is included in Brasov and all the swirling in this city. To east stands the Timis Valley relief with his quiver full of spas that separates Postavaru from Piatra Mare Mountains. To south Postavaru is separated from Bucegi Mountains by the Great River. The destructive power of man was not very present in the mountains and the landscapes spiced with rare animals and different species of plants could very easily be preserved without human influence. At an altitude of 900 meters in the north-western side of the mountains is the Stejerisul Mare reserve (or Great Raven tusks). On the 20 acres are preserved beech forest and halophile vegetation caught in by the limestone cliffs. Animals found here like the brown bear, stag and raptors such as the raven and the common buzzard are protected by law. Unlike other areas in Postavaru are at your disposal two cable cars leaving from Poiana Brasov and 30 approved trails with different difficulty levels. The routes Predeal - Cioplea – Susai and Upper Timis - Cave Tamina - Peak Piatra Mare are to be mentioned. Do not refuse the chance of climbing this mountain, especially due to the increasing accessible routes that enhancing the panoramas that can be seen from all points of the compass of Postavaru Mountains.
