The name of the Purcareni village relates to the fact that local residents were famous for the many herds of pigs and sheep who later supplied the fortress of Brasov. Many of you know that today Sacele consists of 7 smaller villages: Satulung, Cernatu, Turches, Baciu, Tarlungeni Zizin and Purcareni. In the Purcareni fossil point is the cliff containing Klipa limestone, this limestone from the area is particularly representative because of the rare coral reef. The Purcareni reserve is interesting in light of two scientific interests: a paleontological interest because of the fossilized fauna and another geological interest due to the evolutionary conservation of local tectonics.
