The area of this square brings together the first Romanian school museum, Sf Nicolae Church and the statue of Deacon Coresi. Nowadays, there are parking spaces, modern for both car and bike and a station for buses. Because it is a cultural heritage objective the Unirii square also benefits of proper lighting.
The initial name was Prundului market and this is due to the gravel brought by the rivers from Solomon's Stones. Back in the old times, here was a famous oil mill which was later bought by Sf. Nicolae Church. There was also a Roman soldier statue which was erected by the Roman Women Reunion in Unirii square in memory of the First World War heroes.
With the redevelopment of the area, the number of tourists is expected to grow and also the tourism appeal of the area.
