The Christmas period in Brasov is always an absolute celebration period covering the city in various colours giving the starts for the winter holiday season spirits. It is well-known the big Christmas tree lighting moment on Saint Nicolaus day from the famous Council square (Piata Sfatului). The event is accompanied by pop music and carol concerts.
This is also that period of the year when most of the Facebook profiles have background pictures with the beloved lighted Christmas tree. And the likes for such pictures are without count. Pictures with the gorgeous tree are not taken only by the people from Brasov, but also by tourists visiting Brasov winter after winter.
The Christmas spirit is not felt only due to the lights covering the city such in a pleasant and always surprising manner, but also due to the pleased people filled with the joy of the new winter season and the gift rush. This is the time when in restaurants and shops the ambient music is replaced with carols, each window shop having various Christmas decorations, when everyone makes the resolution for the next year and most importantly the moment when families reunite around their Christmas tree.

The Oktoberfest festival Brasov

The Oktobertfest festival Brasov represents a much cherished contradiction among the people. Why do we call it a contradiction?! Simply because the name of the festival defines the month of October and the event takes place in September. But such a reason can under no circumstances disturb the joy from inside the big tent. From the great bier barrels till the scents of the good grilled little forcemeat sausages (mici) the people in Brasov have plenty of opportunities to taste the traditional Bayern food and drink. This is the festival bringing together through the German music the Saxon community of Brasov, but also the „less&rdquo Saxon community to chat over a drink and something to eat. The Oktoberfest Festival Brasov lasts 10 days bringing full joy and cheerfulness in Brasov. The bier glasses were good sustained by the always crowded tables inside the tent placed on the Sporting High school field. This festival brings also the opportunity to admire the national Bayern suits, which are proudly worn by the nice ladies welcoming you right after stepping on the place of the field. All it leaves us is invite you to take part, autumn by autumn at this joyful atmosphere inside the big tent and shout from all your bottoms the famous slogan „tziki tzaka, tziki tzaka” . And those who have never heard this slogan before, you have time until autumn to set your vocal cords for when the Oktoberfest festival Brasov begins...
